Leaders...

I was in the office yesterday... Thursday... Overheard a mgr 'teaching' a snr...

Mgr: Hey I thot you're supposed to come and see me today?
Snr: Ya. But I'm on MC. And I saw that you were busy on the phone.
Mgr: No, I wasn't busy the whole day and I was expecting you to come and look for me.
Snr: Ok, are you free now to go through?
Mgr: I thought you were supposed to come and look for me at 2pm?
[looking at his watch -- 4pm] And how would I know that you're on MC if you don't tell me? I happen to come out and see you sitting here then I remembered I was supposed to meet you today, but you didnt come and look for me.
(Snr's name), like say you make an appointment to see a specialist at 2pm and say that day you cant make it, you will tell the doctor that you're unable to make it and change the appointment to another day rite? You wont be sitting down here and waiting for the doctor to come and look for you, hey how come you didnt turn up? Rite? This is just an analogy.
So you shouldnt be expecting me to come and ask you why you didnt turn up for the appointment, you should be the one coming to tell me.
Snr: Ok, so are you free to go through the points with me now?
Mgr: No, I'm not, i got to go and meet KXXXP to go through the other job's points now. Maybe i meet you at 430pm?
Snr: Ok.

[I sat there and pitied that snr... She was on MC and yet, she worked a full day that day....]

Then I was quite free this morning and i read the papers... Classified... Hahaha... Nope, not looking for jobs... But was looking at the article at the last page of the classified... they always have interesting articles there... Anyway, it's talking abt leadership...

Aiyah, my dad sold the papers to garung guni le... But it was abt leaders take all the blame, share some credit and also goves the best praises to their employees... Yep, this kind are called good leaders... But nowadays, it's the other way round... Leaders take all the credit and shun all the blame... Thus turnover rate is so so so high nowadays as there're lesser n lesser good leaders ard...

Anyway, I was just thinking of myself as a member, as an employee... What can I do to help, to assist my leader, my snr, my mgr... I've learnt to be more accountable, take responsibility n be more initiative... This has made the ppl ard me happier... And I hope everyone ard me can do the same too... Cos not everyone is a leader yet, in the meantime while training to be one. I hope to be able to be the best helper and teach the ppl ard me the same things... To aspire to be the best helper. Know what your leaders want, and give it. Be a help, not another counselling case. Anything unsure, check and learn... Dun bad-mouth ppl, especially behind one's back... It's not going to help the situtation or urself! Cos you wont learn anything out of that...

There are so many so many things which I've learnt in church which can be applied to my work... I just love church... I'll benefited so much from this place... And seeing everyone else prospering, doing everything they can to spread the good news, to touch lives, change lives and set ppl free from bondages, wrong mindsets... And learning more and more each day, growing more and more matured and wise... It's just exciting... And all these is just training us to be leaders... Leaders, that's what you and I are called for... Are you ready to be taught and to catch for urself?
